Full Renovation of a 40 m² Apartment in Ridny Residential Complex

Full renovation of a 40 m² apartment in Ridny Residential Complex in Hatne, Kyiv Oblast — a complete cycle of works from demolition to final cleaning. Ridny Residential Complex is located at 2/2 Pokrovska Street in the village of Hatne, Kyivo-Sviatoshynskyi District; the developer is Ivan Andriiovych Samsonovych. The apartment was handed over by the developer in a bare-shell condition: exposed concrete walls, unfinished ceilings, and only rough connections for water supply and drainage with no finishing whatsoever. The renovation covered all areas — the bathroom, kitchen, living rooms and hallway; no replanning was carried out; instead, the focus was on making rational use of every square metre of the compact layout. Work began with routing the utility systems: a wall-mounted gas boiler was installed in the kitchen, and water supply, drainage and gas lines were distributed throughout. At the same time, a consumer unit was fitted and new socket and lighting circuits were run to every room. The walls in the rooms were finished with decorative plaster — a "silk" texture in the hallway, and a "bark beetle" / "stone" texture in a light-grey shade in the bedrooms and second room, eliminating the need for wallpaper and simplifying future maintenance. Large-format porcelain stoneware in a grey marble look was laid on the walls and floors of the bathrooms — a single tile format visually enlarges the compact space. The accent wall behind the bathtub was finished with warm brown wood-look tiles, zoning the space without building partition walls. In the bathroom, a rectangular acrylic bathtub was set into a niche with a side panel clad in the same porcelain stoneware. A wall-hung vanity unit in a concrete-look finish was installed beneath the washbasin, and a chrome U-shaped towel warmer was positioned above the Electrolux washing machine — making maximum use of the vertical space. In the kitchen, the floor was covered with large light-grey ceramic tiles with minimal grout joints, and the walls were painted with structural paint in two tones, divided at the line of the future splashback. Light-grey wood-look laminate with a dark-brown skirting board was laid in the living rooms; in one room the walls were painted in a warm beige-pink tone. Stretch ceilings — white matte or grey — were installed in all rooms, fitted with surface-mounted and recessed ring-shaped LED light fixtures. Interior doors in a uniform "pearlescent oak" finish with horizontal glass inserts were installed throughout the apartment; the front metal door is black for contrast. Wall niches were provided for appliances and utility connections. The apartment was handed over to the client fully move-in ready, with the boiler connected, bathrooms completed and lighting in every room. The KyivReno team, with experience since 2014, delivered this project turnkey with a dedicated site manager and a fixed price set out in the contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the specific features of renovation in Ridny Residential Complex in Hatne?

Ridny Residential Complex is located in the village of Hatne, Kyivo-Sviatoshynskyi District, Kyiv Oblast, at 2/2 Pokrovska Street. Apartments are handed over bare, so renovation starts from scratch: full routing of all utilities, floor screed, plastering, and then finish work. Compact layouts of up to 45 m² require thoughtful zoning without unnecessary partition walls.

What wall finish was chosen for the rooms in this apartment?

The bedrooms and second room feature decorative plaster in a "bark beetle" or "stone" texture in a light-grey shade. The hallway walls are finished with a "silk" texture plaster — more resistant to mechanical damage than standard wallpaper. This approach eliminates the need to re-apply wall coverings every few years.

How was the bathroom finish resolved in this project?

The main walls and floor of the bathroom are clad in large-format porcelain stoneware with a grey marble look — using a single tile format across all surfaces visually enlarges the space. The accent wall behind the bathtub is finished with warm brown wood-look tiles, zoning the space without additional structures. The side panel of the acrylic bathtub is faced with the same porcelain stoneware for a cohesive finish.

How was the washing machine placed in the compact bathroom?

The Electrolux washing machine is installed in the bathroom, and the U-shaped chrome towel warmer is mounted directly above it — making full use of the vertical space without sacrificing convenience. The wall-hung vanity unit in a concrete-look finish was chosen without legs so the floor reads visually unobstructed.

What did the client receive upon completion of the renovation in this apartment?

The 40 m² apartment was handed over fully move-in ready: a connected wall-mounted gas boiler, fully fitted bathrooms with all plumbing fixtures, installed interior and front doors, floor coverings laid in every room, and lighting connected throughout. The client can move in and arrange furniture without any additional work.
