45 m² Apartment Renovation in Ridny Residential Complex, Hatne

Full renovation of a 45 m² apartment in Ridny Residential Complex, Hatne village, Kyiv Oblast — from bare concrete to move-in ready. Ridny Residential Complex is a nine-storey comfort-class development completed in 2021, with a monolithic frame structure, individual gas heating and a gated territory. The apartment was handed over by the developer with a rough screed, plastered walls and basic electrical wiring — the standard handover condition for this complex. The team’s task was to fit out the open-plan kitchen-living room, bedroom, bathroom and hallway in a neutral palette with natural wood accents. Demolition work was minimal — only chasing for additional electrical points and preparing walls for finish skim-coating was required. In the kitchen, the layout was designed around a load-bearing monolithic column, which was integrated into a tall tower unit housing a built-in oven and microwave. The floor was levelled with a machine screed, walls were brought to Q3 standard for painting, and in the bathroom a concealed cistern frame for a wall-hung toilet was installed. The bathroom walls were clad in large-format 60×60 porcelain tiles with a dark grey marble effect and white veining; the floor was finished in wood-effect porcelain tiles for contrast. The acrylic bathtub was fitted with a frameless glass partition, creating a shower zone without a separate enclosure. In the kitchen, a handleless matte grey MDF kitchen suite with push-to-open facades was installed; the countertop and upper units were finished in a light oak look, with a black composite sink. In the bedroom, a built-in sliding wardrobe with oak-effect and black mirror facades was fitted, along with concealed tracks for blackout curtains and dark brown engineered wood flooring. Throughout the apartment, walnut MDF doors with black glass inserts and matte black hardware were installed, and the ceiling-to-wall joint was finished with a slim black moulding — a graphic outline in place of a traditional skirting board. The apartment is move-in ready with all appliances connected, built-in furniture in place and a working gas boiler. The KyivReno team completed the project turnkey with a fixed contract price, a dedicated site manager and a warranty on all works.

Frequently Asked Questions

In what condition does the developer hand over apartments in Ridny Residential Complex?

Apartments in Ridny Residential Complex are handed over with a rough finish: cement floor screed, plastered walls and basic electrical wiring. A dual-circuit gas boiler and radiators are already installed by the developer. A full renovation cycle is required for move-in — from skimcoating walls to installing plumbing fixtures and furniture.

How was the load-bearing column in the kitchen of this apartment handled?

The monolithic frame construction of Ridny Residential Complex features load-bearing columns inside the apartments. In this project, the column was integrated into a tall tower unit of the kitchen, housing a built-in oven and a microwave. This solution transformed a structural element into a functional part of the kitchen without any loss of usable floor area.

What materials were used to finish the bathroom in this project?

The walls and bathtub surround were clad in large-format 60×60 cm porcelain tiles with a dark grey marble effect and white veining, laid in a straight joint with minimal grout lines. The floor was finished with wood-effect porcelain tiles for contrast. A wall-hung toilet on a concealed cistern frame, an acrylic bathtub with a frameless glass partition, and a vanity unit with wood-effect facades were also installed.

How long does it take to get from Ridny Residential Complex in Hatne to Teremky metro station?

According to the developer and real estate portals, it takes approximately 10 minutes by car or around 30 minutes by public transport from Ridny Residential Complex to Teremky metro station. Minibus routes 427, 723 and 365 run through Hatne and connect to Teremky metro. A shopping and entertainment centre, a school, a kindergarten and a park are also located nearby.

What layout solution was chosen for the bedroom of up to 15 m²?

In the compact bedroom, a built-in sliding wardrobe was installed with oak-effect facades and a black mirror panel that visually enlarges the space. Blackout curtain tracks were concealed in a recess behind the stretch ceiling. The floor was laid with dark brown engineered wood boards, while the contrast of dark furniture and textiles against white walls created a sense of zoning without any additional partitions.
